Im in if you wanna do some testing. But Id be curious as to what time the fastest Falcon driver could do in the fastest Jag drivers car. Ive watched the replays for Goodwood and Im sure skill has a lot more to do with 1st and 2nd place than just the HP advantage.
By the end I was wondering if these people have jobs or are just chained to a steering wheel in a dark room all day and night. :woohoo:

Don, skill is the key, but as long as I do at Goodwood 1:35 low with Falcon and 1:38 low with Cortina this gaves 3 s. advantage - with 28 laps this is almost 90 s.

I did some tests on different tracks, more curvy:

Trois-Rivieres

Virginia North (lovely outstanding track for HGT in my opinion)

Just an idea. Adding 200 kg to Falcons weight in the race.

I get that the Falcon is faster straight line but, wouldnt you need to test all the cars on all the tracks? If the Abarth or the Cortina can do Brands Hatch faster and Croft Faster then wheres the disadvantage then? The points will be harder to get for the Falcons for the end result standings.
Id be curious to see what the average "pace difference" is for all the cars by the AI drivers on all the tracks listed, leaving phys. driver skill out completely.
In other words, if Toni Talvitie is just more skillful in any car than the other drivers, are we penalizing the Falcon just because thats the car HE chose? Would I have been able to beat him in my Falcon if he'd had a Jag, or would it just have been a closer result after 45 mins on the track .. .. His skill still beating my skill even though I had the power advantage?
If we were all in Cortinas or Abarths.. .. .. who wins then? Because technically, thats who should win no matter what cars we're in, right?

I did some tests with Falcon (F) and Cortina (C) on Croft, Virginia North, Donington and Oulton Park. Default setups.

Croft:
F - 1:49.2
C - 1:50.9

Donington:
F - 2:04.2
C - 2:05.7

Oulton:
F - 2:07.1
C - 2:08.1

Virginia:
F - 1:56.9
C - 1:56.9

I suggest to switch Snetterton and Donington (or Croft) to Virginia and Oulton at the moment. I will add Jaguar to this test and I will know more.

Jag laptimes added:

Croft:
F - 1:49.2
C - 1:50.9
J - 1:52.7

Donington:
F - 2:04.2
C - 2:05.7
J - 2:06.0

Oulton:
F - 2:07.1
C - 2:08.1
J - 2.11.7

Virginia:
F - 1:56.9
C - 1:56.9
J - 1:59.4

So, only Snetterton should be changed to Virginia or Oulton, but Oulton gives bigger gap than Virginia.

I invented something interesting - point ratio counted every race depending on fastest laptimes according to each car. For example, at Goodwood the fastest lap for Cortina was 1:38.1 - this lap is counted as the fastest lap for related car.

Brands Hatch fastest laptimes, gap and point ratio:

F - 1:00.4 - 0.0 - 1.00%
A - 1:00.6 - 0.2 - 1.02%
C - 1:01.1 - 0.7 - 1.07%%
M - 1:02.5 - 2.1 - 1.21%
J - 1:03.5 - 3.1 - 1.31%

Points after Brands Hatch according to point ratio:

Nieminen - 15x 1.02 - 15.30
Feri - 12x 1.00 - 12.00
Anstey - 10x 1.02 - 10.20
Piechota - 8x 1.07 - 8.56
Settanta - 6x 1.31 - 7.86
Cvitanovic - 5x 1.07 - 5.35
Archipow - 4x 1.07 - 4.28

Goodwood fastest laptimes, gap and point ratio:

F - 1:34.4 - 0.0 - 1.00%
A - 1:37.8 - 3.4 - 1.34%
C - 1:38.1 - 3.7 - 1.37%
J - 1:39.2 - 4.8 - 1.48%
M - 1:40.8 - 6.4 - 1.64%

Points after Goodwood according to point ratio:

Talvitie - 15x 1.00 - 15.00
Feri - 12x 1.00 - 12.00
Archipow - 10x 1.37 - 13.70
Vilela - 8x 1.48 - 11.84
Nieminen - 6x 1.34 - 8.04
Han - 5x 1.00 - 5.00
McCoy - 4x 1.00 - 4.00
Brown - 3x 1.64 - 4.92
Lewera - 2x 1.64 - 3.28
Lebioda - 1x 1.37 - 1.37

Overall points after 2 races:

Feri - 24.00
Nieminen - 23.34
Archipow - 17.98
Talvitie - 15.00
Vilela - 11.84
Anstey - 10.20
Piechota - 8.56
Settanta - 7.86
Cvitanovic - 5.35
Han - 5.00
Brown - 4.92
McCoy - 4.00
Lewera - 3.28
Lebioda - 1.37

I hope you understood it. It's simple - gives good drivers with worse cars better point ratio - look for Vilela, Archipow and Brown points. They are higher comparing to normal classification due to better result in worse car. In my opinion it deletes huge Falcon advantage on fast tracks and it depends on track, so if Abarth will be the fastest car on Cadwell, Falcons will be awarded.

What do you think? In my opinion the rule can be changed at the moment. Remember, we still learn the mod and try to equalise the cars. In addition, we would be not dependent on special track selection. It's fair system.

I gain some points...so for me it's ok!

I was joking obviously. ;)

I think it could be a good "point system" that could be applied to the following champs. Or, in alternative, we can have two different rankings based on the class of the cars (A1 - A3), added to the "absolute rank".
If I don't go wrong you posted also the "class-rank" after the first round at "the Brands".

Keep calm and wait the chequered flag...

Yes, but I deleted it, because I started to work with "point ratio" system.

It's fair system, because it can be used in the future HGT series with different cars. The advantage of the system is the track shows which car matches the best for the track. The second advantage is it promotes the best diver, not a car.
