Date: 08.10.2017
Time: 19:30 CEST (17:30 GMT/UTC) (qualifying)

Due to health & personal problems there is a possibility that Lagune Seca will be rescheduled. Of course if it will be done so, it will be done with respecting top drivers ability to participation in the event set with new date.

Sunday morning I will publish the final decision in this thread.

Please understand my situation. That's why DRM series didn't start yet. Sorry for inconveniences, but sometimes life is as it is.

Keep racing. We will start the new test server with rFactor 2.

Stay tuned.

Ok, I know all facts.

Tomorrow's race is rescheduled. New date will be published soon.

Of course, feel free to meet at 19:00 CEST and run some 5 lap quickraces - maybe new guys will need the help from experienced drivers.

Sorry again for the calling off the event, but it was a "force majeure".

Just out of curiosity, have you guys considered Automobilista?

I have both Automobilista and rFactor 2 (licensed). I have very little experience with any of these titles, so one of the reasons I ask is because Automobilista has quite lower hardware requirements than rf2. I don't know about the other members of the group, but to use rf2 regularly I'D have to upgrade my pc, while with Automobilista I think it would be able to allow me to drive with pretty decent quality settings. Not close to High, but Medium for sure, while with rf2 I have to use minimus to have acceptable frame rates.

I use Automobilista, it's funny because in my computer the game runs even better than rf1. Nevertheless, my computer can't handle rf2.

I have now a GeForce GTX650 1Gb, rF2 and Assetto Corsa work quite OK offline, the problem is going online, the rest of the sims work fine (think I only don't have Project Cars), even the RaceRoom Race Experience. But from tomorrow those problems will be over: I will install a GeForce GTX1050Ti 4Gb!

I use an ATI R7 370 4GB DDR5 OC Edition. It's perfect for older sims like rFactor, HistoricGT and GT Legends, but definitely not enough for Newer ones like rFactor 2, RaceRoom. Even for Automobilista is a little under what it takes to offer a good quality/frame rate balance. I use triple 24" monitors at a bezel compensated 5920x1080 resolution which is quite demanding on the GPU.
With the older sims it's enough to run them on high or close to high settings with a good fps rate (always over 60 fps - sometimes 120 or 140, but especially on multiplayer conditions never under 60 even in more complex tracks with many cars on the track).

My CPU and RAM don't help much regarding newer sims also. I run a Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.5GHz) overclocked at 7x400MHz (2.8GHz) and 6GB of HyperX DDR2 RAM. It's quite under the necessary specs for newer sims; to run on triple monitors most of them require, besides a high end GPU, an i5 or i7 CPU and 8GB DDR3 or DDR4.

Given this, I know that to migrate to one of the newer sims I'd have to upgrade my PC. Perhaps keeping my actual GPU for a while, but it's mandatory to upgrade the "heart" - MB, CPU and RAM. I know I'll have to do it sooner or later, but it's quite an investment and it seems that never is a good time! And there is also another factor: VR. That's why I'm thinking on a 2 stage upgrade leaving the GPU for the second one; probably the second stage will be to sell my 3 monitors and GPU and get a 1080 combined with Rift or CV1 VR glasses.
