rFactor phisics are much better and realistic I think. And as far as I'm concerned, that's the main characteristic a sim should have. Not the best graphics, not the cars, tracks or functionalities offered but good physics that are as close as possible to what you'd find in a real car.

Have 8Gb RAM DDR3, not too expensive

Antonio Tavares wrote: I use an ATI R7 370 4GB DDR5 OC Edition. It's perfect for older sims like rFactor, HistoricGT and GT Legends, but definitely not enough for Newer ones like rFactor 2, RaceRoom. Even for Automobilista is a little under what it takes to offer a good quality/frame rate balance. I use triple 24" monitors at a bezel compensated 5920x1080 resolution which is quite demanding on the GPU.
With the older sims it's enough to run them on high or close to high settings with a good fps rate (always over 60 fps - sometimes 120 or 140, but especially on multiplayer conditions never under 60 even in more complex tracks with many cars on the track).

My CPU and RAM don't help much regarding newer sims also. I run a Core 2 Quad Q9300 (2.5GHz) overclocked at 7x400MHz (2.8GHz) and 6GB of HyperX DDR2 RAM. It's quite under the necessary specs for newer sims; to run on triple monitors most of them require, besides a high end GPU, an i5 or i7 CPU and 8GB DDR3 or DDR4.

Given this, I know that to migrate to one of the newer sims I'd have to upgrade my PC. Perhaps keeping my actual GPU for a while, but it's mandatory to upgrade the "heart" - MB, CPU and RAM. I know I'll have to do it sooner or later, but it's quite an investment and it seems that never is a good time! And there is also another factor: VR. That's why I'm thinking on a 2 stage upgrade leaving the GPU for the second one; probably the second stage will be to sell my 3 monitors and GPU and get a 1080 combined with Rift or CV1 VR glasses.

Yes, Luis, DDR3 is actually cheaper than DDR2. But my MB (Asus P5E) is quite old, it has socket 775 LGA and only DDR2 support.
I've already did some upgrades over the years (it has at least 6 years, maybe more...), let's see:
1 - 2 to 4 GB RAM
2- Intel Core 2 Duo 2,8 to Intel Core 2 Quad
3 - 4GB (4 x 1GB) to 6GB (2 x 2GB + 2 x 1GB)
4 - 7200 rpm SATA HD to SSD

So, as my MB/CPU/RAM are outdated, the next upgrade will be these 3 components. And also 2 other motives: to allow the use of modern sims like rFactor 2 and the possible use of VR.
