I have a suggestion for a small change in car selection system to be applied beginning from the next event.

Divide the grid into, say 5, and give each group a choise of 2 car sets according to finishing positions of the previous race. Top finishers take slow cars and bottom ones take the fast cars. An example to clarify:

Podium finishers of Castle Combe take 2 set of slow cars.
P4 - P6 Slightly better cars
P7 - P9 Average cars
P10 - P12 Fast cars
P13 - P15 Fastest cars
.
.
.
and so on

What is the expected outcome?

- Whole field mixed up
- Much more different liveries on track (possibility of 10 different cars on track in this example)
- Less time consumption for an individual for learning the car to be raced as there will be only 2 cars to choose from
- We will not end up finding ourselves fighting with the same drivers since the earlier seasons. Different skills at the same pace and still same skills at the same or nearly the same pace.

Murat, I appreciate you meaning, but it makes no sense in this championship. All races have close balanced cars but they aren't exactly the same. However, they are close enough to match each car to any driver's style. Example: Lotus Elan (winning car) was completely hard to drive for me which doesn't mean I couldn't drive it with low 1:18. Alfa gave me it faster and was better suited to my driving style.

Second thing is this carset and free choice makes this champ equal for everyone. Only driver's skill counts.

I accepted this system, all selected cars were tested properly and these tests showed time differences pro lap up to 1 s. at Brno and around 0.5 s. on the rest of tracks.

I can't remember if I signed in for this 4th season, therefore, and risking looking senil:

-> I'M IN PLS.

I can't wait to get my hands on that 911!... ;-)

About Murat's sugestion and our beloved admin (...) reply, I can't disagree on any side. I think that suggestions to level the fiel are interesting and can make great races, with a lot more overtakes and fights. Personally, if I was one of the usual winners, I'd find interesting the challenge to take a slower car. In the end the best/fastest drivers will see it reflected in final trophy results anyway.
But I agree that free car preference and choice should be respected, so I guess it comes down to the preference of trhe majority of drivers.
Just a thought though: some drivers race for fun, some just for results. They don't have fun if they don't win or stay close. Maybe it's a question of reputation for them. Well, in that matter I have to say that I know who the fastest drivers are, who can drive fast consistently, etc. We have tools for that.
And I give them credit for that. But this credit would go way beyond if I saw their driving on the track, passing me and gaining distance in front of me with a slower car. Taking corners at highers speeds with a slower car, making pressure in close racing to find gaps to place their car side by side and prepare an overtake in the next braking zone or corner exit.
One thing is to read the news on the newspaper, other quite different and much more thrilling is to watch the news happen from a live perspective...
