I did some testing for this event for Marek and I created some basic setups for the A1 class.

You can download these setups from here

www.mediafire.com/file/x28twbnawmv2l81/C...%20Test%20Setups.rar

Fastest times I managed in testing with these setups were

1. Alpine A110 1600s...................1:18.521
3. Alfa Romeo 1600 GTA '65.......1:18.541
4. Lotus Elan 26R........................1:18.618

You'll need something like WinRAR to unzip it.

Hope this helps :)

Qualy was very nearly a disaster as I span out several times. Calmed down and managed to put in a fast enough time for P2.

Got a great start and got up onto the tail of Matheus. Coming out of the first right handed I got alongside and completed the overtake through the very fast right hand kink. Screwed up the chicane which gave Matheus a run on me down to the last corner. Now I've watched the replay of this several times. I knew Matheus was alongside me on the left hand side and although I did move over to the left I still gave him enough space. As we bagan turning into the corner we touch and that unsettled Matheus's car. I don't think I did anything wrong here and it looks to me like a racing incident. What are your thoughts Matheus?

After that I tried to throw it all away on the following lap going off track at the fast right hand kink. Started to settle down and pump in some low 1:18's. Saw I now had a good gap to the chasing pack so just put my head down and churned out the laps. It was lonely up until I hit back markers. Thanks to all I passed for allowing me through.

Well done to the other podium places and to all who took part

This is going to be another excellent series. The perfect end to a great weekend of classic motorsport as I've been watching the Goodwood Members Meeting in the snow of all things. :)

Great race!

I wasn't nervous, as I usually am at race/championship starts, and I was aware that my setup might accelerate terribly from low speeds, so I was prepared to have a couple of cars around me in the first lap.

And the start happened exactly as I expected. I was confident in my straight line speed and tryed to leave space when I believed there was someone close by. Couldn't shake anyone off as the long straights arrived and I noticed that, well, I made a tough gamble.

Seems like ms. luck didn't enjoy my bet as the last corner of the first lap arrived: Paul was ahead and left me the outside as we launched away from the chicane. I braked earlier and, by misreading his move, turned in earlier, too. There was a small bump, then my car pointed outwards and I overcorrected, crossing the road back to the inside, slowly and sideways. A huge pack of cars was very close by and bumped my rear (typical race accident, Id say), after what I finally spun out of control. Poor Elan.

Talking about the Elan, I believed it had what was needed to try to recover, at least if I could put together a flawless recovery race, and so I focused on forgetting about the accident and paying attention to the race ahead of me. And it was fun!

Lot's of close racing and a few touches happened. I'd like to say that I'm specially sorry for a bump against a white Elan, while in a three car battle for the second place: I held my throttle and didn't overtake him, but that bump took his momentum from attacking the car ahead.

As I eventually reached second position, Paul had built another 10s over the 7s gap we had as I recovered from the first lap accident. There was well over half the laps left and I tryed my best to get as close as possible, betting on a possible mistake from him. Hi was flawless, but I commited some small ones that, I believe, shaved around 4 to 6s from my final race time.

To wrap it up: of course I'd like to be closer to Paul and challenge him for first, but I enjoyed my performance very much - seems like this league has some weird ability to throw my race predictions away and demand me to try my best all the time. Clean drivers all around are what makes fun possible, when those things happens. Thank you all for that!

And congrats to Paul: well deserved win for a great guy!

If you have ~10 minutes you can watch my whole struggle... (at some point I was close to bite in me steering wheel)

My quali was not bad but my start was very poor. I could have started from pitlane and it would made no difference. After that I was at the back at the field and these guys fighting like hell (no allegation) and are difficult to pass. In particular Jorge Herrera who was once again my nemesis (again no allegation, I think he did the best he could to hold his position).
As you can see in my video it took a long time ti clear them all and after that I was lucky to catch Laszlo too. Which meant P 10 and thats ok with this circumstances but anyway it felt like a terrible race.

Because qualy is awarded by points from this season, I take it seriously and was fifth. After accident in the last corner of the first lap, I was second for a while, but I knew I won´t be able to hold it. Then I experienced irritating freeze of PC once in every lap. It was like half of the second freeze, but when you are in the middle of the corner, or braking, it´s really disturbing and I´m really suprised that I didn´t spun or so, more than that I have nice battle with Csaba. At the end I have nice fight with Stig and finished sixth.

I need to sort my PC before my home race at Brno.

cheers

Q: 4
R: 4

Qual:
I didn't come close to my PB. Counted on very low 1:18, finished 4th with mid 1:18.

Race:
Start was ok, no position change. Then on the last turn of lap 1 Paul and Matheus had accident and Matheus spun with Aitor. It happened just before my nose so I tried my best to avoid heavy hit. Unfortunately Matheus came just before my front and I hit his rear with moderate strength. That caused I lost my momentum and lost 6 places - Matheus and Aitor avoided incoming crowd. Later, the race was very intense for me and I recovered 6 positions back fighting in the end with Aitor for 3rd. It was hard to overtake on this track so I finished behind Aitor with less than 0.2 s. gap. Looking at my laptimes I can say the damage I got at the beginning caused I was a little bit slower than normal - my front suspension didn't work properly. Anyway, I'm happy with the result.
