These seem affordable, but I have no good or bad reviews. Anyway, $10 a month is perhaps worth a testdrive.

Hopefully IRG can get up and running again soon.

As for paying for server time somewhere else I don't mind dipping into my pocket and donate a small amount toward it.

At this point it's probably worth letting IRG have a week or so to see what their future holds. However we could run the risk of loosing drivers if we aren't racing soon.

Has there been any recent update from IRG?

Actually I don't have any feedback, so we must call off this Sunday event. It will be the last time, trust me. Today I have wedding party in my family so I'm off until tomorrow. Keep the faith.

First post updated. Event moved to 29.04.2018.

I'm sorry for my delay answering. If necessary I can have a dedicated server running in a couple of hours, and host tomorrow event. It's risky, I admit, to use it without conclusive testing, but we can always cancel the event in case of problems during the race or if conditions are not good for some drivers (lag or other technical issues).

Also possible to host a fun race with other cars/track, so that drivers can have some fun and practice under race conditions. I'd suggest 2 x 30 minutes races.

I downloaded dedicated server manual and it seems easy to have it running in no time, besides a normal instalation and server options configuration it is only necessary to open some ports in the router or set a DMZ to rFactor, and allow some ports in the firewall, or even quicker to disable the .

Due to lack of time, my only doubt are the recommended hardware requirements to run the server smoothly. Marek, you happen to know this? My laptop has a Dual Core Pentium T2130 @1,86Hz, 2GB RAM, SSD Hard Drive and a 100MB Ethernet LAN Card.

I worked before with this provider: rackservice.org/france-dedicated and works perfectly for simracing. Right now they have a server just for 20€/month...

Another possibilty is that you could ask if the guys from SRO could help with a server.

www.simracingonline.co.uk/

I don´t know the exact conditions or terms of use but it´s possible to host races/series there. So before buy an expensive server it seems better to get in touch with them (Nigel Middelton should the right contact person or you ask in a thread there. Definitely nice guys there, maybe you know some of them from Race2Play)

In addition I think to remind me that at some point Nigel asked why do you didn´t host your events at SRO. So for my opinion its worth a try.

Ok I managed to have a server running in lobby. I need help to test if it running ok.

In my other pc, the one where I race, I see the serve in the lobby but I can't join - I get a time out message after 2 or 3 secs.
I can however join through LAN entering the private IP adress of the server on my local network.

So I would appreciate if someone coild try to join through lobby and report here:

1 - Any issues joining
2 - ping values (from server, visible on lobby, and from other cars)
3 - which of the minis should be excluded

Server Name: HistoricGT SR
Password: hgt
