Third race in a row in which I make most part of the race in nobody's land. Fifth position at the end.

Qualy: After a number of attempts to settle into a lap I finally manged to get a 1:17.3 and pole position. Not sure why I couldn't settle into a rhythm as during practice I was OK.

Race: The unsettled nature of my driving continued from the start. My arms just felt dead and after 5 or so laps the inevitable happened and I span out. Trying to get going again the car just wouldn't settle I think I was in panic mode and kept spinning the back wheels. Aitor had flown by and I thought the pack were closer than they were. Managed to get it back in line and started reeling in Aitor. Caught up with him within 5 laps and made a very messy attempt at passing him in the last tight right hander. A few laps later in the same corner got alongside and continued alongside up to T1. Continued alongside down the hill and here we touched and I span out for the second time. This time I lost a couple of places. Caught up with Marek and had a couple of laps trying to work out how to get passed. The best place was the last tight right hander. Went into the corner deeper than I would normally go so I could turn in tighter. Took a couple of laps for this method to work and I completed the overtake through T1. Now for Juan. Caught him on the very last lap and tried the same technique through the last tight right hander. This time I only got the one chance. Got alongside him but didn't quite have enough puff to get him going up the hill to the finish line. Juan kept 2nd place by 1/10th of a second .

Well done Aitor for winning :)
Well done Juan for keeping ahead just :)
Well to everyone who finished :) and commiserations to those that didn't :(

On to Philip Island. Is it the Porkers? This should be fun. What a great car and a fantastic track :)

Qualy P2:

Good qualy laps in 1:17.6 for 2nd place. That was my best lap and waiting if Paul and Juan could beat it.

Race: P1
Good start keeping 2nd place and I try to stay close to Paul on a fast 1:17 pace. When he spun I took the lead and then I start to keep a good pace but looking at mirrors when Paul was going to attack me. When he did we were side by side 3 turns but unfortunately we touched on the cascade and he spun. A shame the battle finished in that way but after that I was focused on a 1:18 pace and keeping an eye in fuel consumption because I was worried that maybe I miscalculated fuel amount for race but the calculations were good. A perfect race and first win of 2018.
