Qual: 5th
Race: 5th

First of all - kudos to Paul for unbelievable setup Thnx bro!

I didn't expect much from Brands Hatch/Mini 1310 combo, because I personally hate this car and first turn at Brands Hatch as well. Fortunately nothing wrong happened there yesterday. Qualify showed I can be comparable to the fastest drivers - only 0.4 s. gap to pole setter was quite good result for me. Paul was on his place of course (1st).

The race promised to be very interesting and it was like that indeed. With 19 drivers on grid, full of action and juicy fights. My start was ok, I passed one opponent but sometimes if you go faster you can put yourself in wrong momentum. Just before the next (slowest) corner I was forced to brake earlier and some drivers behind passed me on exit so I went down to 9th place in the first lap. Then I collected some great moments and fights (Laszlo and Juan), finally picking up 5th safe position chasing Milos Djokic who seemed to be slower than me. We fought well and fair but I did mistake on the last corner almost spinning out. I lost 6 s. to Milos but I didn't lose my 5th position. Shortly thereafter I was still closing my distance to Milos again but on lap 15 the disaster came. I shifted down from 3rd gear to 1st by mistake and I almost cooked the engine. It was a miracle it didn't burn at that moment. Rfdynhud plugin showed -132% (minus) of engine efficiency (from over 80% to -132% in a second due to wrong downshifting) and engine was in "red" condition. So, from that moment I had safe 8 s. gap over driver behind comparing to visible Milos ahead of me. Surprisingly engine worked still but I had to avoid higher rpm. On the last lap I decided to push Milos harder because he wasn't so far I expected. We fought each other to the last corner where I was faster on exit. We pushed to the max until the S-F line came and I crossed it side by side with 0.006 s. gap behind him!

Anyway, it was a good race and I'm happy with my "from-nothing-to-heaven" result. Looking forward to the next race.

Not much practiced at least not up to my usual 100's of laps so I was surprised to take pole.

The lack of practice haunted me trough out the opening laps when I missed my braking points again and again. Had a great fight with Nikola trading places multiple times until a mistake out of Druids putting my rear tyres on the grass and spinning out. Luckily only dropped a couple of places. Now behind two cars (don't know who). One went off at the back of the circuit. Now I had a good fight with second place and eventually got passed. Nikola was too far in front but I was closing rapidly at the end and might have caught him if I hadn't of made more errors.

Well done to Nikola for the win :)
Well done to all who finished :) and commiserations to those that didn't :(

I'm now rebuilding my rig which will hopefully be ready in time for the next round :)

I am very satisfied with the season opener. I was expecting more trouble on the track because a lot of people drive this mode for the first time, including me.
Race was tense and exhausting!
I am not used to driving a long races and after few laps when the gaps opened and there is no bumper to bumper action my times got slower.
Even with that "fast" laps I was able to hold my position because I didn't make any big mistakes.
Last lap was a real nail-biting experience, Marek was at my bumper and I tried to drive defensive lines, at the end it was just 0.006 photo finish and this time fortunately I was ahead :woohoo:
I am extremely happy with the result and I am looking forward to the next race!

The worst race for me in years...

My race was ruined from the first lap by an unsporty driver. From that to the end was a nightmare, trying to reach the checkered flag with a junked car.

If the rest of the series will be raced at the same time schedule, I can't race.
