Hi everyone!

I want to tell the community something about our close future plans. We have many people registered to GP1979 forthcoming season and this series is our most important thing. That's why it has one and only separate server - open 24/7 permanently.

We have also the second one, but it must be divided on different series, f.e. GT and DRM. This second server will be on/off simultaneously in the week. I don't know yet which days will be dedicated to each series.

Now it's DRM Revival mod on the second server. Please test it good, because the cars have not equal power and performances. I think we can do a league with this mod based on Division 1 cars: Ford Capri, Porsche 935 and BMW M1. If needed I can do a rotation of 3 tracks: twisty, straight and quick and mixed (Jarama, Monza and Zolder) - to see the car abilities.

I'm looking for a good GT mod. I hope Endurance GT2 cars offer close competition, what was shown on LimeRock, but I'm going to check another GT mod - FIA GT Championship 1.0. It's an old one, but it has, not only in my opinion, better physics as Endurance mod.

So the next step after DRM mod tests will be FIA GT Championship 1.0. Maybe next week. I must take a look into the calendar, because GP1979 season comes quick.

I hope you understand our racesim philosophy. We are user-friendly community. We are here to give you fun and good vibrations. :)

Regards
Fireball

Thats a great idea Fire. This way we can see which mod we have the most fun in. But one thing about the tracks, would be nice if we had some other tracks for DRM and GT2 mods? We will train on GP79 tracks a lot with Formula 1 cars anyway, so how about some other trackpack? 1991 for example? Or modern tracks, the ones we don't drive on them so often ( Fuji or Laguna Seca for example). I think it would add to complete rFactor experience, so we dont train on same tracks in 3 mods. My humble opinion :)

I'd say it would be good to go something like Fuji, Seca and so on, but yea we will do a lot of laps on 1979 track and there is no point to drive it with DRM. I will check the GT Champs mod and think it's a good idea to pick the better one of them.

Yes, you're right Uros.

I did DRM on Zolder just because we know that track the best and we can tell which cars could be equal or something.

With FIA GT 1.0 mod I think the best track would be something like Road America or Donington Park.

Please write here your tips for the track to test.

I am always in favour of tracks which were run in reality in a given series... DRM had its own tracks and ZOLDER was among them. For the real seasons check this page, I think there is no need to mix the eras..

hmm yes, Pawel is right, it would be nice for a DRM season to be the nearly all the same tracks as one of those real seasons, of course if they're all avaible for rF. Maybe something like 1980 or so, nice variety and we'd drive those crazy cars on Nordschleife, we of course to shorten a season can do something like cut out the doubles which would make 1980 6-8 races rather than 13 (depending on avaibility of some tracks) and that's a nice season to do :)
it would look something like
1.Zolder
2.Nurburgring Norschleife
3.Hockenheim
4.Mainz-Finthen*
5.Spa
6.Norisring*
7.Salzburgring
8.Diepholz*

*Not sure about avaibility of the track in the era's layout/at all for rfactor

Mainz-Finthen
www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Mainz-Finthen%20Airbase

Norisring
www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Norisring

I think we can run a short season including some tracks that kkacper mentioned. Some pass BMW M1 due to long straights, some more twisted are good for Capri or Porsche 935.

1. Mainz-Finthen
2. Spa
3. Nordschleife (1.5-2 h wyścig)
4. Norisring
5. Salzburgring

From a newer Era - no cars from the mod here
4.round : Brands Hatch
